In May 2010, I returned to Charleston with my mom and sister for a wonderful girls weekend. It was so nice to escape the chilly north, and bask in the southern sunshine that I frequently miss. LOL. We spent the weekend attending the Women of Joy conference, walking around the historic district, taking a boat cruise, and visiting the Middleton Plantation. We saw a few dolphins on the boat cruise, and even saw an alligator that had ventured from the Ashley River into one of the little ponds at Middleton. In fact, my sister was only a few feet from the alligator before we noticed it was in the pond. Yikes!
