Chicago

We have friends that live near Chicago, and though we visit them frequently, we don't usually go into the city that often while there. But in October we decided to be Chicago tourists for a day. I loved it! It had been many years since I'd actually been downtown. We walked all day and still didn't get to half of the things I would've done. We started at the new Rick Bayless XOCO restaurant to power up with tortas, churros, and chocolate. We then went to Millenium Park (there was a country music festival that day), Buckingham Fountain, and Navy Pier. We were there the day before the Chicago Marathon, so we were also able to see the preparations for that while walking around. From Navy Pier we took one of the architecture boat tours. It was a nice way of relaxing from all the walking. Last we took the water taxi back up the river and had dinner at The Grand Lux. What a great day!
