Devil's Lake

One of my goals while living in Wisconsin has been to go hiking at Devil's Lake during fall color season. So we headed there mid-October in hopes of gorgeous trees. Unfortunately, due to some cold weather and lack of rain, most of the trees went right from green to brown this year. Although there wasn't much color, it was still excellent hiking. The weather was perfect and there were many great trails. We spent most of our time at Devil's Lake State Park, though also ventured out into the Baraboo Bluffs and Mirror Lake. We'd hoped to hike in Parfrey's Glen also, but it was closed because much of the trail had been washed away in previous floodings and mud slides. We'll have to save that for a return trip.
